Repeat test

The repeat test gives the assurance that the device is in perfect working order and that it does not pose a risk to the life and limb of the operator or cause unnecessary suffering to the animal.

Why is the repeat test so important?

In many cases the user and/or owner of a stunner cannot properly assess the wear and tear of the device. This is primarily due to the fact that he lacks the technical expertise regarding the materials used. Where a technical layman sees a still perfectly functional livestock stunning device, it is often already a case of serious material wear, which can lead to damage to the life and limb of the user as well as to unnecessary suffering for the animal. You can discover in the maintenance and servicing tutorials how to look for signs of worn components.

How can you recognise if the test sticker has been attached correctly to the stunner?

Let's first take a look at the sticker. It is relatively inconspicuous and simple so that it is easy to read.

How to read the sticker
If you hold the stunner upright in your hand with the head at the top, you can see the test date at the bottom of the sticker. Using the picture as an example, you can read 11.21 on the sticker.

Where the sticker is attached
As you can see in the picture, the sticker is always stuck on the first smooth area below the middle.

You wish to send your stunner to us for a repeat test?

Please check the serial numbers!

Check whether the serial numbers on the head and body are identical! Stunners which do not have the same serial number are not allowed; a repeat test is not possible!

Check the cartridge chamber!

It happens quite regularly that a loaded stunner is sent to us. A loaded stunner carries a high risk of injury!

Please also remove spent cartridges and clean the stunner.

Appointments for the repeat test

Repeat tests are usually carried out at the end of the month!

Please also bear in mind the time it takes to send your stunner to us!

Repeat test 1 & 2

Repeat test 1 (Wiederholungsprüfung 1 = WHP1) is carried out on newer stunners.
When it is eviden that the stunner has not been used, a visual inspection is made and it is checked that the stunner works properly.

Repeat test 2 (Wiederholungsprüfung 2 = WHP2)
Standard repeat test!
The stunner is put through its paces here!
